Madi for brunch in Pacific Beach

 Madi has a tempting brunch menu with a good balance of sweet and savory options.  We made a reservation and rolled up at 8:30 AM on a Saturday to a placid restaurant.  I had the blackberry and goat cheese pancakes.  This is why I go out.  It is a simple dish, but I wouldn't have thought of goat cheese on pancakes.  They were great.  My friend had ample chilaquiles with a generous portion of pulled pork.  There was enough pork to take home for sandwiches.  

It is a bright attractive place with an outdoor patio and easy parking.  One side of the lot is free, the other is paid parking.  The free side was full, so we found parking in front on Grand Street.  It is within walking distance of the beach. 

The waitstaff were very friendly and attentive.  It has the feel of a really nice neighborhood place.
