Legislative Assembly for the Province of British Columbia, Canada in Victoria

We took the self-guided tour of the LA for British Columbia.  It is a very impressive building.  There is a lot of beautiful leaded glass.  There are some interesting displays about the indigenous peoples of the region.  I forgot to take a photo of the official ceremonial mace that resides in the library.  In the Middle Ages, the mace used to be an actual weapon carried by the bodyguard of the King.  It still looks pretty formidable.  There are photos of decades of worth of Attorneys General and Assemblies.  It is no surprise that they used to be exclusively white men.  The current Attorney General is Niki Sharma, a woman of Indian heritage.  There are three MLAs of indigenous heritage in the current Assembly.
