Grouse Mountain in Vancouver, BC, Canada
This is an entertainment complex on top of a mountain. We took the gondola up Grouse Mountain. The view was stunning until we entered a huge bank of clouds. The clouds were with us until we reached the top of the mountain which was above the clouds. It is a whole world up there. We went for lunch first. The food was simple, but hearty. We had a nice bowl of chili. There were a lot of people up there. There is a very popular biking park and there is a separate gondola service for people bringing bikes. Another activity is walking up the stairs (The Grouse Grind), instead of taking the gondola. This takes about two hours of continuous stair climbing. We chatted with some people who were happy to have done it once and looked like they didn't want to do it again ever.
We had a lot of fun. We saw a raptor show, which included a galloping vulture. We saw a lumberjack show, which was silly fun with some real lumberjack skills. We looked at the grizzly bear that lives in an enclosure. The trees were lovely. Some of us took the chair lifts even higher up for a better view. So much fresh air...
