A harbor tour of Victoria, BC

 We hopped aboard a small boat for a tour of the harbor of Victoria, BC.  The most surprising thing about the harbor is how many seaplanes take-off and land.  Our guide said it was the second busiest city for seaplane traffic.  We saw several while we were on the 45-minute ride around the harbor.  We also saw a seal and two cruise ships.  The guide gave us an overview of the city and how the harbor functions today.  It was very interesting.  The tour stopped at Fishermen's Wharf, which is home to many houseboats, shops and cafes.  We walked around for about 30 minutes and were able to use our ticket to continue on to starting point of the Victoria Causeway in front of the Fairmont Empress hotel.

It was a fun and helpful introduction to the city of Victoria.  There are other little harbor boats that function like taxis with a tour guide.  They can drop you off at several places in the harbor.
