March Field Air Museum, Riverside, CA

This is the largest air museum on the West Coast.  March Field Air Museum has an amazing collection of planes, helicopters, military memorabilia and much more.  It really is a snapshot of history - not just aviation or military.  You really get a sense of American history during war time.  The span of aviation history includes biplanes up to planes used in the Afghanistan/Iraq war.  There are thirty-seven acres of planes.  There are enormous cargo planes down to some Cessna's.  Although March is an Air Force Reserve Base, naval aviation is well represented.  There are the stories of British and Indian aviators, too.

I especially enjoyed the flight uniforms and also the display of the cockpits.  There are exhibits about commercial aviation, as well.

There were many children visiting when we were there and they were fascinated.

I didn't take many pictures.  There were signs about not photographing at the Base.  I took the two above before I saw the signs.  There are restrooms and a souvenir shop.

If you can't make it to the museum, their website has a lot of information and good photos.
