Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel, Jacumba

The pool was busy, but I was able to get a photo without guests
I really like this tile work
                                                        Kitchen includes stove and oven
The regular rooms are around the back pool

The Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel is a perfect spot to relax, enjoy good food and drink, and look at the night sky.  The Hotel has two large pools filled with spring water, pumped from Lake Jacumba..  The water has the natural smell of sulfur and makes you very buoyant.  It was warm, but not excessively hot.  It was wonderful to relax and have a nice float.  After an afternoon of soaking and napping, we went to dinner at the Long Shadow restaurant on the property.  I wrote a blog entry about how good the food is - excellent!

We chose to stay in one of the casitas, just two blocks from the hotel.  The casita has a private entrance, pretty bathroom, small kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator, a comfortable living/dining room and front and back patio.  In the back patio outdoors, is a private soaking tub which fills from the spring.  It was so quiet and was nice for star gazing.  The casita had a turntable and we listened to Simon & Garfunkel's greatest hits.

For breakfast, we walked back to the hotel for corn pancakes, coffee and avocado toast.  The food is great!

The Hotel is about a 10-minute drive off I-8.  It is very easy to find.  The "lobby" of the hotel is an Airstream trailer.  We got free hibiscus drinks and a tour of the property.

We will definitely come for a longer stay.  The crowd was a mix of ages, including a group of women having a lot of fun at a bachelorette party.  Most of the guests were there to chill and enjoy the dry desert air.  The Hotel is 21+.  Children can eat at the restaurant, but can't stay.
