Imperial Tea Court in the Ferry Building, San Francisco

The Ferry Building is bustling at lunch time.  I was looking for something light and noticed the Imperial Tea Court.  The back is set up for tea and snacks.  It is a tranquil space.  I ordered an Anhui yellow tea.  It did brew a light yellow tea that was very good.  For snacks, I had a course of shumai dumplings which were fresh and delicious.  I followed that with an order of cookies that were lightly flavored with tea.  It was a perfect snack!  There are a lot of teas to try.

There are teas, teapots, books and more for sale.  It is a nice place to pick up a gift.  They carry the teas that open up to look like a flower. They are called "blooming tea" and are most impressive served in a clear glass pot. That seems like a great gift, even for someone who isn't knowledgeable about tea.

On the way out, I noticed that they also had tea eggs, which I love.  Another visit is now necessary.
