Sunday Brunch at Nine-Ten in La Jolla

I liked Nine-Ten right away, because they serve Sunday Brunch starting early.  7:30 AM!  That is a fine thing, because we get up early every day and I can't wait for a 10 AM brunch.  The menu is an excellent balance between more breakfast-type items, like a lobster benedict and more lunch-y offerings, like a burrata board.  We were there at 8 AM and opted for more breakfast-leaning offerings.  I had the avocado toast, which was delicious and beautiful.  The avocado was in chunks on well buttered brioche.  There were interesting additions like pepitas, roasted cherry tomatoes and pickled raisins.  It was definitely an elevated avocado toast.  My friend had their signature omelette, which was large and stuffed with asparagus, goat cheese, tomato and avocado.

The service was excellent and the coffee was constantly being refreshed.  The restaurant is located in the Grande Colonial Hotel.  The restaurant is on the street, so there is indoor and sidewalk seating.  After a satisfying breakfast, we took a right and then another right down Jenner to the Children's Pool to watch the seals.  It was a very La Jolla way to spend a morning.
