Museum of Illusions in downtown San Diego

The newest "museum" in San Diego is the Museum of Illusions.  It is more of an experience than a museum.  Every exhibit is interactive.  You can read and learn about the science of optical illusions or just try things out and have fun.  Many of the illusions are immersive and can be a little overwhelming.  There is a vertigo-inducing tunnel that I was too nervous to try.  It is a great place for children or groups of friends because many of the exhibits lead to silly images, funny photos and laughter.

The illusions include infinity mirrors, a giant kaleidoscope room, a growing/shrinking room, holograms and much more.

There are very helpful guides to explain the science.  We were greeted by Cameron and he made sure we made the most of our visit.

We arrived at 10 AM and easily found parking on the block.  Admission was $26 each for us.  There are several types of discount packages available.    We spent over an hour.  There is a small shop with puzzles, holograms and more.
