The Kitchen @ MCASD
One of the best sea views in La Jolla is at The Kitchen @ MCASD. This restaurant has an interesting lunch menu. I had a tough time deciding what I wanted. I thought seriously about the peach/mozzarella sandwich, but chose the frittata, which came with a side salad. It frittata was made with potatoes, so it was very filling. The vegetables included asparagus, tomatoes and microgreens. There was a tasty romesco sauce, this classic Spanish sauce is made from roasted red peppers and almonds. Delicious! The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner.
There is indoor seating and a large patio, as well. It was so relaxing watching the pelicans fly by.
The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego has a cafe/coffee shop on the side of the building closer to the entrance of the Museum. The restaurant is on the other side of the cafe. I tend to have good luck finding parking on Draper Avenue, which is perpendicular to the Museum.
