Murrieta Hot Springs Resort, Murrieta, CA
We went to the Murrieta Hot Springs Resort on a balmy Sunday. We ordered day passes online and arrived promptly at 9 AM for check-in. The facilities are very pretty. There a waterfalls and a central lagoon with two black swans and a number of geese and ducks.
There are lots of things to do! There are hot soaking pools, two swimming pools, a cold plunge pool, mud treatments and much more. There is also a schedule of programs, such as pool sound meditation. My favorite spot was a personal mineral soaking tub that fit two adults comfortably. They are warm and filled with natural mineral spring water. The outdoor grounds offer lots of shade and there is ample recliners, chairs, benches and storage cubbies throughout.
There is an indoor section with a reflexology water walk, temperature contrast pools, a wet sauna and a very large dry sauna.
The cost of a day pass is $119 and it is an excellent value. (It is less expensive M-Thursday) There is a bar on the premises and a small restaurant. I had a BLTA and my friend had a salad. The resort has plenty of parking. There is a small section of the resort reserved for hotel guests. Some areas are adult-only, we saw several small children enjoying the pools with their families. Murrieta is about a 10-minute drive north of Temecula. If you are there late in the day, there is another restaurant open for dinner only. Other than the locker rooms, all the facilities are co-ed. There are massages and other spa services available for booking. Bring a water bottle to take advantage of their many refilling stations.
