Casa del Prado in Balboa Park, San Diego

 One great thing about San Diego is that there are many free spaces and activities.  I went to an event at the Timken Museum (always free).  On the way, I stopped by Casa del Prado, which has a space for community organizations to meet.  I've seen orchid shows, bonsai shows and more.  These shows are often free.  I recently saw the show of the San Diego Cactus and Succulent Society.  There were some fascinating specimens and there were friendly volunteers to answer questions.  Look at these little fellows:

Surreal!  Succulents and cacti aren't everyone's cup of tea.  I love them!  Some of them look like they are from Cthulu's home planet. 

Casa del Prado is in the heart of Balboa Park, near the Botanical Building.
