Dinner at The Crow's Nest, Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage
The Crow's Nest is on the 20th floor of Hotel Captain Cook in downtown Anchorage. The restaurant offers 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains and waterways. On a clear day, you can see Mt. Denali. We had a wonderful meal! We started with non-alcoholic rhubarb drinks. (Alaska has home-grown rhubarb). We had a shared appetizer of risotto with rabbit confit, which was excellent. For main courses, we had a duroc pork chop, salmon and a caprese salad. The portions were generous and the food was great. Dessert was house-made ice creams that were especially good. The service was also great.
This is a perfect special occasion place or vacation treat. The views were stunning!
Access to the restaurant is from Tower 3. The hotel lobby is a bustling place with people getting ready to board buses for cruise ships. The hotel has a nice gift shop. It is a short walk to access the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail and also the interesting stores along Fourth Avenue.
