Hoorah Cafe in Rancho Bernardo, San Diego
I had an excellent breakfast at the Hoorah Cafe in the Bernardo Center Plaza. There is a self-serve coffee bar with nine types of coffee and a wide range of cream and milk substitutes, including oat milk. I had the stuffed French toast. This was the best I’ve ever had. The bread was a light, crisp brioche and the crème patisserie filling wasn’t overly sweet. The plate was loaded with fresh berries and banana slices. It was great. The menu is extensive and is a good mixture of sweet and savory dishes. They are currently open for breakfast and lunch.
The service was outstanding! My server was Whitney. Although the place was busy, I was seated, had ordered and received my food within 15 minutes. The staff is very attentive and drinks were topped off promptly.
This is a spacious place with indoor and outdoor seating. There are plenty of tables that can accommodate large groups. It is a good location for a party or business lunch.
The space used to be Mason’s Provisions. The Plaza has a big parking lot, so no worries there. The Plaza is across the street from the McDonald’s. It is a great addition to Rancho Bernardo!
