South of Nick's, San Clemente, CA

South of Nick's offers Mexican food with bright flavors, good levels of spicy and some less common menu items.  I had short rib tacos, which had plenty of fresh cilantro to balance the richness of the short ribs.  Another friend had Chilean sea bass, which had vegetables,  a nice rice side dish and also black beans.  It made for a filling meal.  Sometimes, fish can make for a light meal.  I forget what my other friend had, but it looked good!

The restaurant is spacious and very attractive inside with an open kitchen.  We had never been to San Clemente before.  The downtown area looked very cute, so we will return soon.
