Dija Mara in Oceanside, CA

This is a return visit to Dija Mara, this time for brunch.  The menu is eclectic with many Indonesian staple, such as nasi goreng and also classic brunch dishes such as french toast and steak with eggs.  I started with a lychee mimosa.  A fine choice!  We shared an order of roti with a vegetable curry.  It was so amazing we had another round.  Roti reflects the influence of Indian culture on Indonesian.  The bread was delicious with a nice char on it and the curry was rich with coconut milk as its base.  I had the tartine, which was a tasty, yet light dish of jam and ricotta on bread:

My friends had the eggplant bowl and were delighted.

This is a great restaurant!  The decor is edgy with a nod to Banksy.  It is a welcome addition to Oceanside, which doesn't have a reputation yet for great food.  I'm looking forward to another visit, especially to try some of the specifically Indonesian staples.
