San Juan Capistrano is famous for the returning swallows and its beautiful mission. It also claims one of the oldest streets in continuous use in California. Los Rios Street has ancient trees, cute restaurants, a park and historic buildings. It was a nice stop for a walk and a cup of coffee. There is also a petting zoo nearby.
We were there very early in the morning, so most places were closed
This looked so cute
There are plaques in the park for some notable residents. This poor woman was sentenced to San Quentin for protesting the train going through her family property. She died in prison.
Excellent coffee and muffins
