Breakfast Republic, Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego

Breakfast Republic is an awesome spot in the Gaslamp Quarter.  It offers an interesting menu with exciting takes on classics like French toast, pancakes and more.  Everything looked amazing from chilaquiles to a prosciutto toast.  There are plenty of lattes and coffee specials, like a white chocolate raspberry latte.  There is also a generous selection of breakfast cocktails!

We ventured out nervously on a Sunday morning fearing that the downtown would be dead.  However, despite the cold, it was a busy with dogs being walked and tourists already on scooters.  We arrived around 7:10 AM and were seated immediately.  By the time we left, around 8 AM, there was a line to get in.

We were in the city for Jazz in the Key of Ellison at the Balboa Theater.  We stayed over at the Moxy Hotel, which doesn't have its own restaurant.  Not much is open on Sunday morning before 8 AM.  The hotel staff steered us here and we were so glad.
