A Visit to Vista

This waterfall leads to a pond

These were taken at the Alta Vista Botanical Garden.  It is worth a visit, if you are in the area.  It is in a large park, so take the entrance marked for the Gardens and then drive up the hill.  There is parking at the entrance.  Be advised there are only portable toilets at the Gardens.

I don't associate lions with punctuality

This Cupid is riding a snail

The pug's tail wags and tongue and eyes move

This is a steam clock

I took so many pictures at the West Coast Clock Museum.  It was hard to choose a sample.  It is a small museum, but loaded with many tiny treasures.  The collection ranges from imposing grandfather clocks to tiny pocket watches to novelty clocks.  It is a fun place to take children for a game of "I Spy".  So many timepieces have an animal theme, like the pug, lion and elephant above.  The Museum is located in a building in the property of the larger Vista museum complex.  There are bathrooms and admission is free.

This is just one example of the acres of antique farm equipment, steam engines and more at the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum in Vista.  We were there during the textile arts show and there were also rock and mineral vendors.  There is a blacksmith shop with lots of people working a smithing projects.  There is a lot to take in and we didn't see everything.
