The town of New Canaan is home to many architectural significant works, especially by the Harvard Five. The majority are still private homes, but can be seen from the road. The best known home is
The Glass House, one of the architectural statement pieces
of the 20
th century. It is a
small delight, but it is only one of the many beautiful buildings designed by
Philip Johnson on the property. It is
only available by tour.

Another wonder is Grace Farms, a nonprofit center located on 80-acres of
forest. The River is a building designed
by SANAA (a Pritzer-prize winning Japanese firm). It is a
theater, sanctuary, library, art center, snack shop, tea pavilion and rec
center. It is well worth a visit. It is stunning!

The town of New Canaan is charming with a downtown full of restaurants and interesting shops. The town is a wonderful day trip or a vacation destination for architecture devotees.
