The San Diego Animal Sanctuary & Farm is a fun place to see lots of animals up close.  There are farm animals such as pigs, sheep, goats, donkey, horses and more.  The closures are huge and very tidy.  There are also exotic animals like ankole cattle, ostriches, zebra and emu.

The animals are kept in family groups.  In one pen, you might see a llama, goats and a donkey.  I asked about the groupings and I learned that some of the animals came in together when surrendered.  They try to keep a friendship group together.

There are many crops planted with squash and melons coming in.  There is a farm-stand with local honey and vegetables for sale.

It was a very relaxing visit.  The animals are interested in visitors.  A cat walked with us through the sanctuary.  There are very nice bathrooms, as well. Admission is $40 for adults, less for children.  We spent an enjoyable hour!  The drive through Alpine is pretty.  They also offer specialty tours.
