Palm Springs Art Museum

The Palm Springs Art Museum has a small, but very nice collection with galleries devoted to glass, western art, California art movements and more.  I especially enjoyed the glass gallery which included this piece by Jim Dine:

Another gallery I enjoyed had examples of small sculptures from Mexican civilizations such as the Olmec, Maya and Nayarit alongside paintings by modern Mexican artists like Zuniga, Tamayo and Rivera.  It is easy to see the legacy continuing into modern times.  I thought it was an insightful way to present a thousand-year-old tradition.

There is currently a nice exhibit of drawings by Picasso.

The sculpture garden is also very appealing.

The address for the main Museum is 101 Museum Drive, Palm Springs.  It is downtown.  The Museum also has other locations, so don't rely on Google, because last year, it took us to another sculpture garden that is a good distance from the main Museum.
