Filoli, Woodside, CA

 Filoli Mansion and Gardens is a great place for the holidays.  It is a short drive outside San Francisco.  They have an amazing Christmas light display, but the gardens and mansion are a worthy day-time experience, as well.

The gardens are beautiful and they grow a variety of citrus, apples, vegetables and more.  We saw a deer trying to sneak into the vegetable garden.  There is also a nice nature trail and we saw a banana slug!

There is a fine cafe.  I had a nice quiche with a wonderful Waldorf salad.
