A day trip to Snoqualmie, WA

We were based in Bellevue, WA to our visit to the greater Seattle area.  It was about a half-hour drive up to Snoqualmie.  We started at the falls.  It is a very short walk from the parking area to the pretty falls.

There is a small gift shop with a short video about the struggles of the Snoqualmie people to be recognized as a tribe.  We had some excellent scones.

We drove to blueberry pickings at Bybee Blueberries near the falls.  The berries were easy to pick.  There were lots of wild blackberries and we picked those too.  The farm is at the foot of some beautiful mountains.

Just down the road is access to the Three Forks trail.  This short, easy trail leads to the junction of three rivers.  We saw red-headed woodpeckers! Very pretty area.

We went to the town for lunch.  We had grilled cheese sandwiches and a wine tasting at Sigillo Cellars.  It was a memorable grilled cheese with fig jam and I especially enjoyed the riesling.

We finished up with ice cream nearby.

A great day!
