Self-Realization Meditation Gardens, Encinitas, CA

 The Self-Realization Fellowship Temple has been a part of Encinitas for about one hundred years.  The golden dome is a prominent landmark.  In the compound is a small meditation garden open to the public.  There are lovely shaded spots for meditation, a koi pond and a great ocean view.  It is a serene spot, free, with some boxes for donations.  The entrance is on K Street at 3rd.  It is a nice place to regroup, meditate, enjoy the cool, bird watch or look at the sea.

 

A few blocks down 3rd Avenue are the boathouses.  These landmarks are homes, still occupied, designed to look like boats.  They are worth a walk by.
