Brockton Villa in La Jolla, CA

La Jolla Cove is a very busy place in late winter and early spring.  Today, I saw a huge gathering of sea lions along the rocks and in the water.  About a half-mile south, the harbor seals were hauled out on the beach, sunning themselves along with their pups.

A great spot for breakfast or lunch, before crossing the street to look at the marine life is Brockton Villa.  You can hear the barks of the sea lions from this popular spot is on Coast Boulevard.

We started with a blanco mocha - espresso with white chocolate.  They have many interesting coffee drinks, as well as chai and cocktails.  The menu has several types of French toast, pancakes, omelettes, avocado toast and lunch is served starting at opening, as well.

I had the short ribs Benedict.  I have never seen this types of Benedict and it was delicious.  The meat was buttery soft and very rich.  It was a more filling option than the classic Benedict.  My friend had the cinnamon pancakes - also excellent.

The outdoor patio has a great view of the ocean, La Jolla Shores, Scripps Pier and to UCSD in the distance.

Loved it!  The staff is also super friendly!
