We had a great Christmas dinner at the
Little River Inn, just south of Mendocino. The inn was beautifully lit. The menu had many interesting, locally sourced items. There were dishes that featured foraged mushrooms and huckleberries. For an appetizer, we had the sampler for house-made pickles. This was really fun to share and not overly filling, along with the bread and butter. We also had the cheese plate, kale salad, mushroom and farro risotto and braised short ribs. The food was excellent and very hearty. For dessert, we had the huckleberry napoleon with frangipane.
