Mission Inn, Riverside, CA

 

So many pictures of this amazing place...  We had a comfortable room and ate at a great restaurant - Las Campanas.  Several Presidents have visited the Mission Inn.  There are portraits of Kennedy, George H.W. Bush, Taft, George W. Bush, Reagan, Hoover and Teddy Roosevelt.  There are also lots of photographs of notable visitors.  There is a banquet chair used by Taft.  He was not a svelte man!  This is a historic inn and also an architectural wonder.  It looks like El Escorial with hints of Mission Revival and Japanese style elements.  There is also a huge amount of art work tucked into corners and on every wall.  There are four restaurants and a pool.  This is a destination on its own.
