The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens, Palm Springs

 The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens has something for everyone.  It is a great medium-sized zoo with the usual suspects of zebras, kudus, ostriches and more unusual inhabitants such as African hunting dogs and hyenas.  There are opportunities to feed giraffes, although, when we were there, the giraffes were full.  There is a good representation of area residents like big horned sheep, Mexican wolves and a mountain lion. 

It is also a fine botanical with a stand of date palms, cactus gardens, hummingbird gardens and more.

There is a huge model railroad that is a delight for young and old.
