The Anderson Abruzzo International Balloon Museum and more

Albuquerque is home to the world's largest balloon rally.  The International Balloon Museum is a permanent collection detailing the history of ballooning and some of its most memorable achievements.  We had a very entertaining guide, Mel, who told the story of the dramatic first flight in a balloon created by the Montgolfier Brothers.  The occupants were a sheep, a duck and a chicken.  There are several interactive displays, including one that stimulates balloon flight.  This is fun museum to the whole family!




Another fun place we visited was Green Jeans.  This assemblage of cafes and small shops made interesting use of shipping containers. 


We had a great lunch at the Grove, which is near the University of New Mexico:
