Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena

This is a very fine collection of European art spanning the 14th - 20th century.  The Norton Simon Museum offers a wide ranging assortment of masters of painting and sculpture.  We focused our time on the 19th century where Degas, Monet, van Gogh and many others are presented.  There is an interesting and unusual bas-relief piece by Degas, which is unique.  We also meandered through the 19th century wing which includes several works by Picasso and Braque.  We didn't have time to visit the Asian collection, so we will have to return for that.

It was a wonderful sunny, but cool day.  The sculpture garden is small, but makes a great home to many works by Moore and pieces by Hepworth, Maillol and others.  We were chased by a Canadian goose, which guarded a door.  There are many impressive works at the entrance to the museum, especially monumental works by Rodin.
