Chengdu Taste is spicy! The food is excellent, inexpensive and the portion size is generous. The nice waitress tried to persuade my friend that a two-chile pepper dish was going to be too spicy for him. It was very spicy, but he loved it. This is Szechuan cooking at its best. The restaurant was packed for lunch. We had to wait about 30 minutes, but it was well worth it. The clientele seemed to be Chinese and Chinese-Americans, so a good sign that the food is authentic. The menu had lots of unusual offering, such as lionfish and frog. There are also plenty of options that are not spicy and also many vegetarian choices.
This is a simple, bustling place without much ambiance, but really good food.

This eggplant dish was one-chile spicy and good for me, an ordinary white person |

This minced chicken was very spicy, but wonderful |
I took a picture of this item below on the menu. I've never seen lionfish on a menu before. I believe it is an invasive species in many areas, so it is good that people are eating them. It has to be ordered in advanced:
