Cenote, Austin-weird for breakfast

Animals in serapes
Cenote has a fun, funky vibe.  We stopped by for breakfast.

They have a really interesting selection of teas and coffees.  I had the grilled biscuit and jam, as well as the chorizo/potato breakfast tortilla.  We were very pleased.  There are several locations in the Austin area.  We were at the Windsor Park location, which is large and easy to spot.  A cenote is a natural sinkhole in limestone which is full of water.  It looks like a well.  They are common in the Yucatan and the Maya used to toss sacrificial victims into cenotes thinking that they lead to the underworld home of the gods.  Cenotes definitely look like the connect with something!  I think the aqua cenote is the inspiration of the restaurant's color scheme.
