Sunshine Gardens in Encinitas

Sunshine Gardens is a plant nursery with a collection of shops in a fun, rambling outdoor setting.  Betty's Pie Whole serves sweet pies and also savory hand pies.  We stopped there first and had a coconut cream pie (not common in San Diego).  Twigs is a florist and garden accessory shop where I bought three sunflowers.  North County Olive Oil has a wide range of flavors.  (Jalapeno-infused is my favorite.)  There are koi fish for sale and a wide range of plants, especially succulents.  There are resident chickens, goats, quail, finches, doves and a tortoise.  It's fun for the whole family!
