The Frank Lloyd Wright House in Ebsworth Park, near St. Louis

Photography isn't permitted inside.  Bummer!  The interior is stunning.  The ceilings are red cypress and most of the furniture and textiles were designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.  The home was built for Russell and Ruth Kraus.  Kraus was, himself, an artist.  He built some of the furniture and executed the stained glass details in the style of Wright, with his permission.

The home was designed by Wright to be an affordable, but high quality product.  He created homes he called "Usonian" meant to bring unique architecture to the middle class.  However, these homes ended being much more expensive than typical homes of the period.

The home is in a park and it is a lovely setting.  It highlights Wright's ability to integrate a structure into natural surroundings.

The Frank Lloyd Wright House in Ebsworth Park is only shown by tour.  It is in Kirkwood, a suburb of St. Louis.
