Iron Gate, Washington, DC
It is easy to walk by Iron Gate and that would be a mistake. The entrance is actually in an alley between two buildings. Past the bar is a charming patio area, covered with wisteria and grapes. Further, is what I imagine was at one time a carriage house and now the main dining room of the restaurant. The interesting menu is Greek and Italian influenced with a strong presence of vegetables. Everything sounded appealing. It was difficult to make a decision!
