Booth Falls, East Vail, Colorado

I thought this hike was pretty difficult.  I'm from San Diego and even after four days, the altitude was a challenge.  The hike was a continuous up hill climb with some streams to cross and some snow patches (in May!).  Much of the hike was through open fields, so it was hot sometimes.  We enjoyed the wildflowers and passing through the stands of aspen.  We didn't make it to the falls, but saw many small waterfalls and streams along the way.  We heard reports of a small group of bighorn sheep and also a black bear.  We missed them, but saw lots of butterflies.  So hard to photograph!
