The gardens are tended by volunteers |
is a small display greenhouse in Forest
Park.
In the wealth of treasures in
Forest Park – the art museum, the zoo and more - it is easy to miss and well
worth a quick visit.
Outside is a
charming water garden with water lilies and a fountain.
The Jewel Box is a small greenhouse, only 55’
X 144’, but with a 50’ high ceiling and glass walls.
The space is light, airy and filled with
ferns, plants and flowers.
It is now
used for weddings and special floral shows.
It is the kind of place that makes young children imagine monkeys
peeping down at them from the tropical trees.
Admission is $1.
