More Treasurers of St. Louis

The St. Louis Museum of Art is an outstanding museum with a fine and comprehensive collection.  An art lover should also seek out the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum on the majestic campus of Washington University in St. Louis.  It is a smaller, but very rich collection with works by George Bellows, de Koonig, Arthur Dove, Naum Gabo, John Singer Sargeant and many others.  The collection is more weighted toward 19^th and 20^th century.  I was particularly thrilled by these two works:

When we visited, several of the galleries were closed as new installations were being prepared.  There is a massive construction project on campus around the museum, so expect to wander and follow signs as you try to find the museum.  There is also an interesting numismatics collection downstairs.
